Erasmus+
Adult Education (2026–2027)
Programme: Short-term mobility projects in the field of adult education (KA122 ADU)
Project Title: Heritage and Education in Motion
Duration: 18 months (February 2026 – June 2027)
The Museum of Prague applied to the Erasmus+ KA122 programme with the aim of improving and modernizing its public outreach activities, particularly lecture programmes and accompanying educational events related to exhibitions and upcoming permanent displays, with a focus on their didactic use. The need for the programme is evident given the ongoing transformation and the expected reopening of visitor premises. In December 2025, the Main Building on Florenc was reopened; preparations are underway for the 2027 launch of the Glass Palace Exhibition at the Clam-Gallas Palace, and at the same time, intensive preparations will be made for exhibitions at the House at the Golden Ring in the Old Town and at the castle grounds in Ctěnice. A team of staff members across several museum departments will contribute to their implementation, particularly lecturers and educators from the Program Department, specialists managing and documenting the museum’s collections, and, last but not least, the head of the newly opened Department for the Implementation of AI in Museology. For all these employees, it is crucial that, when organizing educational events for the public, they have the opportunity to compare their work practices with international trends and examples of best practices within the European museum sector.
Mobility activities under the Erasmus+ KA122 programme will take the form of job shadowing in the field of adult education, with a focus on:
1) The implementation of new technologies in lecture programmes and events.
2) Sharing examples of best practices in the preparation of educational activities and didactic elements in exhibition design at similar memory institutions.
3) Promoting museum activities, restoration and conservation, and the overall care and protection of cultural heritage through public outreach programmes.
