What you can experience
The Golden Age of the Middle Ages. A multimedia presentation.
You already know his bridge, the one that has been standing there since. You know St. Vitus Cathedral, which he began to build. Perhaps you don't know that he participated in the construction of New Town, or that he collected the skeletal remains of saints. He was a Roman king and emperor. And a visionary. And such a person deserves a bit of attention, doesn't he?
You can find out more about him in the multimedia exhibition at the House at the Golden Ring. And it wouldn't be the Museum of Prague if it didn't take a unique approach to the exhibition. History with a tinge of tech. Video mapping, for instance. It shows the transformation of Prague during the 14th century, under the reign of Charles IV.
The multimedia exhibition shows you how Charles envisioned the transformation of Prague, which he wanted to turn into the capital of Europe. Of course, not all of his ideas became reality, but you will learn about those as well. In addition, you will see the models of St. Vitus Cathedral, Prague Castle, and Vyšehrad. And if you are interested in how ordinary people lived at that time, you can explore what archaeologists have found and get the picture of it. You might not want to live in those times, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't know anything about it, right?
We also think of our young visitors, who might prefer to play rather than look at displays. For them, the Museum of Prague has prepared a mini-playroom on the second floor, supervised by our Grifo. This is where the little ones can play games
inspired in one way or another by Charles IV. Basically the same story, just for a less information-hungry audience. So bring your kids along.
